
Baked French Toast
One of my favorite things in the world for breakfast is french toast. This recipe is mix of delicious carbs and healthy ingredients. I believe in balance!!! This recipe is super easy and if you have some day old bread it is perfect.
1 Granny Smith apple
1/2 cup oats
1 tab chia seeds
1 tab extra virgin olive oil (butter flavored)
1/2 loaf of your favorite bread (I used cranberry walnut).
6 eggs
1 cup milk
1 teas vanilla
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup bourbon
1/4 teas cinnamon
1/4 teas nutmeg
pinch of salt
Whisk together everything besides the oats, bread, and apple. In a separate bowl toss together the bread, apples, and oats and press in a bread pan. Pour the wet ingredients over the top and bake for 30 minutes at 375 degrees.
Serve it up with a drizzle of honey or some whipping cream.
